Before Shinra meets with Hague, we see a couple of new faces introduced as his old acquaintances, including Lieutenant Pan, Ogun and Karin. Since Shinra saw Captain Hague while experiencing an Adolla Link, he hopes the veteran fire soldier can offer some insight into the mysterious Adolla. Once at Company 4, it is a homecoming of sorts for Shinra since it's where his academy training took place. With the help of Asako - Hague's granddaughter - Shinra is granted a meeting with the leader of Company 4. While this is overall good news for Shinra, he is emotionally conflicted having been lied to and spending so long hunting an Infernal who turned out to be his mother. His mother could be alive too, albeit as the horned Infernal. However, Shō is revealed to be alive, but in the hands of the White-Clad, a cult organization led by the Evangelist. Much of Fire Force's story has centered around Shinra's hatred of fire following the apparent deaths of his brother Shō and their mother. While the Season 2 premiere reintroduced us to the members of Company 8 and debuted a brand new type of Infernal, the follow-up episode shifts focus back to where Season 1 wrapped up.
